At the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday (05.07.2019), Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Chary Gylyjov reported on the results of the work carried out on the development of the trade and private sector of the economy in January-June period.
According to the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the growth of the total volume of trade in the first half of the year amounted to 19.9 percent, while the retail trade turnover increased by 15.3 percent, and the wholesale by 23.5 percent.
During the period, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan held 124 trading sessions, during which 15,227 contracts were concluded.
At the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, the volume of services rendered in monetary terms increased by 24.5 percent. During the reporting period, 7 exhibitions and 11 conferences were held by the Chamber.

The 24th “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan” international conference will take place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan on Oct. 22-23, 2019. The forum is organized by “Turkmennebit” State Concern in partnership with Turkmen Forum.
OGT is a prestigious business forum, which is held annually to develop and strengthen international partnerships between Turkmen state organisations and the international oil and gas companies.
During the forum in Ashgabat, a detailed review of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas market and the latest petrochemical projects and project opportunities will be presented, and the world’s leading oil and gas companies will share their visions and expertise.
Senior representatives of Turkmen state organisations, leading international oil and gas companies, and major international financial institutions have regularly attended the Conference. The regular participants in the forum include Shell, Petronas, Gazprom, Gaffney, Cline & Associates, NAPECO, Hyundai, Vitol, CNPC, Dragon Oil, ENI, BP, Socar, Exxon Mobil, Buried Hill, IFC, ADB, EBRD, Allen & Overy and many others.

Messe Frankfurt, the world’s largest trade fair and event organizer, has opened its official representative office in Ashgabat. Each year, the company organizes about 150 trade fairs in Frankfurt am Main, where the headquarters is located, as well as exhibitions in Berlin and many other cities around the world.
At the event, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Margret Weber noted, the opening of the representative office of the famous Frankfurt Fair in Ashgabat would bring the economic relations of the two countries to a new level. In particular, it would highlight the great possibilities for novice entrepreneurs in Turkmenistan through the facilities and capacity of Messe Frankfurt that is a good place and time to promote its products, an opportunity to become familiar with global trends in any industry.

The 10th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission was held in Vienna on June 13-14. Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, Orazmyrat Gurbannazarov headed the delegation of Turkmenistan, and Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Economic Affairs of Austria Franz Wessig – led the delegation of Austria.

The agenda of the meeting included a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. During the meeting, the representatives of the business circles of Turkmenistan and Austria exchanged views on the status and prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries. The key areas for cooperation between the two states include the digitalization of economy; industry, transport, communications; construction; health care and medical industry; energy and environmental projects; agro-industrial complex; banking sphere; tourism and culture.

26.05.2019. The capital held International exhibition Turkmen Carpet: The World Decoration and XIX Conference of the World Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs Association. The Ministry of textile Industry and Trade and Industrial Chamber were the hosts of big profile review.
Handmade carpet weaving remained until our days mainly due to the fact that its secrets were passed from generation to generation as precious family heirloom from the old times. Today, dynasties of excellent masters of carpet weaving, which include talented youth, are well known in the country.
Honouring of famous carpet makers and best personnel of production was held these days at all facilities of the industry. best personnel were delegated to white-marble capital for participation in the events timed to Turkmen Carpet Holiday.
Big exhibition of carpets and carpet articles has been expanded in the exhibition halls of National Museum of Turkmen Carpet and at neatly decorated grounds on surrounding territory. The collection of this unique museum has around 2,000 priceless rarities and modern masterpieces of carpet heritage of Turkmen nation.
From early morning, celebration atmosphere was reigning around National Museum of Turkmen Carpet. Members of the Government, deputies of the Mejlis, heads of ministries and departments, diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of public organizations, profile facilities and famous carpet makers from all velayats of the country took part in the opening ceremony.
