For the first time, the international rating agency Fitch assigned Turkmenistan a long-term rating of "B+" with a stable outlook, reported by the press service of the country’s MFA:
“The international rating agency “Fitch Ratings” assigned the following ratings to Turkmenistan: short-term rating on the level “B” and the long-term rating on the level “B+ stable” which proves the stable development of the national economy of Turkmenistan”.
The Fitch Rating is an international agency that analyzes economic data and based on those data provides independent assessments of the creditworthiness of banks, states, and companies.
Rating of the agency has a positive effect on the product manufacturers’ image and promotes the attraction of investors.
The Turkmen MFA notes that the assignment to Turkmenistan of the following ratings will contribute to further intensification of external economic activity of the country and the expansion of its trade-economic ties with the other states.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received this news with satisfaction and instructed Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov to continue working on the improvement of the credit rating of Turkmenistan.
