This year, Turkmen agricultural producers have grown a rich harvest of melons and watermelons, vegetables, fruits, and legumes.
Private farms play the main role in the development and strengthening of the agro-industrial complex. According to the Union of Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, most of the food products are grown by private farms and individual enterprises.
Turkmen entrepreneurs are working to increase the volume of food production by developing newly irrigated lands, planting fruit trees and grapes, and building new greenhouses. This makes it possible to supply the domestic market and increase the export volume.
The supply of tomatoes grown by Turkmen agricultural producers is increasing. The volume of tomato exports has doubled compared to 2020 and amounted to more than 51 thousand tons. Many farms have built new greenhouses and grow tomatoes throughout the year, using modern high-tech equipment and innovative plant care methods.
Agricultural products of individual entrepreneurs are exported to Russia and the CIS countries. In the first half of this year, about three thousand tons of fruits and vegetables and 11.7 thousand tons of legumes were purchased by foreign entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurs have increased the production of confectionery and food products exported abroad by several times. This year, more than 1.7 thousand tons of confectionery products, more than 700 thousand packages of coffee drinks, and about 500 thousand liters of drinking water and soft drinks were sold.
