Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia develop partnerships in a number of areas

On July 27, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Said Osman Ahmed Suweida.

During the conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the head of the Saudi diplomatic mission discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, political, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Said Osman Ahmed Suweida stressed that Saudi Arabia, as well as throughout the world, supports the peaceful foreign policy pursued by Turkmenistan, as well as the initiatives of our country to address pressing issues of our time.

The diplomat also noted the interest of representatives of the business circles of Saudi Arabia in further building up trade and economic partnership with Turkmenistan. In his opinion, the establishment of closer economic ties between the two countries is facilitated by the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The fuel and energy sector, transport and communications, and trade were named among the priority areas of economic partnership between Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia.
