05.03.2017. At the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan 64 transactions were registered this week. For foreign currency businessmen from Russia, the USA, Great Britain, Turkey, Afghanistan and others bought polypropylene, motor gasoline, total oil coke manufactured at Turkmenbashi oil refineries complex.
Businessmen from the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, Germany and Afghanistan also purchased also liquid gas (SC "Turkmengaz"). For foreign currency food wheat, one coloured and jacquard terry products, cotton yarn, karakul wool were realised. The countries-buyers: Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Scotland, Afghanistan. The total amount of transactions exceeded 24 million 765 thousand US dollars.
For the manat representatives of business circles of the Netherlands and Pakistan obtained cotton yarn for a total sum over 1 million 90 thousand manats.

For the home market local businessmen bought polypropylene, unbalanced polypropylene "Turkmenaglomerat", polymeric granular (TORC) for a total sum more than 3 million 567 thousand manats.


To turn the country into a blooming garden; to create forests; and ensure proper care of the planted saplings, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution ordering to hold the nationwide tree-planting campaign on 18 March 2017.

Sectoral agencies, provincial administrations and the Ashgabat municipality were instructed to ensure the highest organizational level of the event.

It is planned to plant three million saplings, including fruit trees, throughout the country in 2017.


03.03.2017. The meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers has summed up the results of work in the economic, social and foreign policy sectors from the beginning of the year.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the continued dynamic development of the country. Within the statutory period the new Cabinet has been formed. The momentum of GDP growth, which in January-February was 6.2 percent, has been maintained. Growth in agriculture is 7.8 percent, in trade - 16.9 percent, in transport and communications - 14.2 percent, and in services - 10.3 percent.
The construction projects worth more than 48 billion US dollars are being implemented; most of which are social facilities. The Head of State has gladly noted that domestic construction and installation companies are performing almost 17 billion dollars’ worth of works, which is 20 percent more than last year.
As has been reported by the vice-premiers at the meeting, at the end of two months, the volume of retail trade turnover has increased by 17.1 percent compared with the corresponding period in 2016. The amount of wages in the large and medium-sized enterprises has increased by 9.6 percent. The state budget revenues have amounted to 2.8 billion manat and expenditures – to 2.7 billion manat.
The construction of manufacturing, social and cultural facilities is ongoing. The volume of utilized investments at the expense of all sources of funding has amounted to 3.9 billion manat.
In accordance with the new edition of the National Program of rural development, the construction of 512.4 km of engineering and communication networks and 27.1 thousand square meters of housing has been completed, work is ongoing on the construction of 63 social purpose buildings, 28 water and sewage treatment facilities, more than 763.4 thousands square meters of housing, and engineering facilities. The volume of attracted investments amounted to 156.6 million manat.

02.03.2017. President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Army General Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council, during which the work of military and law enforcement agencies during the first two months of this year were summed up.
The leader of nation heard detailed reports of the heads of military, security and law enforcement agencies on the work done over this period, the fulfillment progress of the earlier given instructions on the organization of effective activity ministries and agencies they are in charge of, improvement of their material and technical base, further strengthening of peace and security in the country.
Summarizing the reports of the membership of State Security Council, the President of Turkmenistan stressed the importance of strict compliance with guidelines and instructions, as well as on an integrated approach to military and legal reforms aimed at improving the activities of military, security and law enforcement agencies.
President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov pointed to the need for joint efforts in order to ensure an effective and well-coordinated work of all inter-related military and law enforcement agencies, as well as to further steps to be taken to improve the service and living conditions of military personnel.

01.03.2017. Islamabad hosted XIII Economic Organization Cooperation Summit where President of Turkmenistan took part.
Speaking at the high level Summit, the Turkmen Leader noted that more than 20 years ago, on March 15, 1995, there was the third meeting of the Heads of the States and Governments of the ECO in Islamabad, which resulted in Islamabad Declaration on Award of Neutral Status to Turkmenistan. The Declaration became one of the first international documents, which made the foundation of the Resolution on Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, which was unanimously adopted by the UN general Assembly on December 12, 1995.
On February 2, 2017, the United Nation General Assembly also adopted the Resolution on declaration of December 12 as International Neutrality Day. The decision of the Community of Nations was the recognition of the great merit of the neutrality in provision of peace on the planet, security and stability, what in its turn meet the goals of sustainable development of all countries and peoples, careful preservation and consolidation of cultural, spiritual, and humanitarian basis of their life.
Turkmenistan considers the ground of the Economic Cooperation Organization as favourable condition for effective negotiations, - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted, having noted that it promotes the establishment of regional dialog in accordance to long-term interests of each of the state.
We are confident that the Economic Cooperation Organization has great potential for expansion of joint activities, particularly in such important sphere as security, which is very important for the region, - the Head of the State said. Turkmenistan sees its efficient provision in the basis of principles of unity and integrity of security. For us, the current status means that political, economic, energy, food, ecological and other securities cannot be provided separately, the Turkmen Leader continued, having mentioned that while being interrelated with each other in geo-political and geo-economic aspect, we have to form a single entity.
