07.03.2017. In Ashgabat, celebratory events were held on the occasion of the International Women’s Day with the participation of the leaders of the Mejlis, ministries and sectoral departments, and public organizations. In their framework, the ceremonies were organized to honor mothers who gave birth and brought up eight or more children, were awarded the honorary title “Ene Myahri” according to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as to hand the keys to new comfortable flats to large families.

This year, the highest mark of distinction, the sign of great recognition of the mother’s service to society and state, the invaluable contribution of our remarkable women to the progress and prosperity of the Homeland were awarded to more than two hundred and eighty of our compatriots.

Care for mother and child, preservation of family values, development of professional, creative and intellectual potential of Turkmen women are the priorities of Turkmenistan’s development strategy.

06.03.2017. Speaking to the press after Turkmen – Uzbek high-level talks in Ashgabat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the current meeting is summoned to give strong quality impulse to cooperation between the countries and lay fundamental basis of the dialog for long-term strategic perspective.

The President of Turkmenistan highlighted that this was the first official visit of Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan as a Head of Uzbek State. During the negotiations, the condition of bilateral relations was discussed and exchange of the opinions on number of international issues presenting mutual interest took place. Large package of bilateral documents defining our cooperation in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres was signed.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the confidence that the meeting with the President of Uzbekistan confirmed mutual willingness and endeavour to steadfast consolidation of partnership in different directions and presence of real opportunities in both countries.

The Leader of the Nation noted that special importance was attached during the talks to consolidation of peace, stability and security. The sides agreed on close cooperation in bilateral format and under international organizations in solution of such issues as counteract of international terrorism, extremism, transboundary organized crime and illegal drugs trafficking.

Turkmenistan welcomes President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, arriving to our country with a state visit.
The fact that the first foreign visit of the new President of Uzbekistan is to Turkmenistan, and he is the first high-ranking guest from the moment of the re-election of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the presidency is the best evidence of mutual desire and interest of both countries to intensify and comprehensively expand constructive dialogue, the hallmarks of which have always been good-neighborliness, equality, openness, mutual respect and mutual understanding of the vital importance of strengthening the centuries-old ties of friendship and trust between the two brotherly peoples.
In the course of recent phone calls, leaders of the two neighboring countries have repeatedly pointed out the existence of favorable conditions for further intensification of political and diplomatic relations, mutually beneficial partnership in trade and economic cooperation, deepening of cultural and humanitarian contacts.
Successful promotion of joint plans is possible through intergovernmental Turkmen-Uzbek commission for trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation, the thirteenth meeting of which has successfully been held in Ashgabat in January this year. Within the framework of consistent implementation of the Agreement between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on economic cooperation for 2013-2017, the parties give full support to the contacts between economic entities of the two states, their participation in exhibitions and fairs held regularly in both countries.
The strategic character of long-term strategic partnership is successfully demonstrated by implemented projects, in particular, the laying of transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China, which opened new horizons for the expansion of regional cooperation, as well as projects planned for implementation.

05.03.2017. At the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan 64 transactions were registered this week. For foreign currency businessmen from Russia, the USA, Great Britain, Turkey, Afghanistan and others bought polypropylene, motor gasoline, total oil coke manufactured at Turkmenbashi oil refineries complex.
Businessmen from the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, Germany and Afghanistan also purchased also liquid gas (SC "Turkmengaz"). For foreign currency food wheat, one coloured and jacquard terry products, cotton yarn, karakul wool were realised. The countries-buyers: Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Scotland, Afghanistan. The total amount of transactions exceeded 24 million 765 thousand US dollars.
For the manat representatives of business circles of the Netherlands and Pakistan obtained cotton yarn for a total sum over 1 million 90 thousand manats.

For the home market local businessmen bought polypropylene, unbalanced polypropylene "Turkmenaglomerat", polymeric granular (TORC) for a total sum more than 3 million 567 thousand manats.


To turn the country into a blooming garden; to create forests; and ensure proper care of the planted saplings, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution ordering to hold the nationwide tree-planting campaign on 18 March 2017.

Sectoral agencies, provincial administrations and the Ashgabat municipality were instructed to ensure the highest organizational level of the event.

It is planned to plant three million saplings, including fruit trees, throughout the country in 2017.
